One of the most prolific of recording artists in history Neil Diamond was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011.

This song was written, recorded and released by Diamond on Bang Records in 1966.  It has been euphemistically known as one of the best break-up songs ever.

Born in Brooklyn of Russian and Polish immigrants he's done well.
