Guess The Critter

Sometimes the best way to identify the critters that have been hanging around is to study what they leave behind.

Their nests, their tracks or the damage they do. And their scat.

Like this.

I've never seen scat like this before.

Anyone know who left it?

  1. I have no idea and that's after going onto various "scat i.d. websites." Your blogs have really prodded me to do some learnin'! I almost can't wait to see what left that "behind!"

  2. I'm stumped too.

So I asked the people over at the UW Extension's Department of Wildlife Ecology and here's what they told me:

Hi Tom Well, I'm stumped as well. It looks like nothing normal that I have seen or thats in the scat book. To me it looks like a scat from an animal that made a poor dietary selection and ended up with a problem similar to drinking pond water in Mexico!!! Sorry I can't be of more help. Scott C
