Poetry in Motion

I dunno about you but I can never get enough of the fluid motion and athleticism of a Labrador retriever on a joyous romp in the snow.

Poetry in motion.

Poetry in Motion

Isn't reserved just for my girls.

The local whitetails are pretty good about putting-on the moves.

Blonde Dog and I kicked this buck out of the tall-grass prairie where it had been bedded-down.

And the ever vigilant camera posted on the central trail captured this image as the whitetail vamoosed....

The Raven

From the trail camera the dark and dreary bird of yore...

But the Raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke only
That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour.
Nothing further then he uttered—not a feather then he fluttered—
Till I scarcely more than muttered “Other friends have flown before—
On the morrow he will leave me, as my hopes have flown before."
Then the bird said "Nevermore."

Poetry in Motion

My old dog still manifests the athletic grace of a Labrador retriever half her age.  Forgot to pack a shotgun on today's walk - it's open season for pheasant, grouse and doodle birds...

Poetry in motion you know.

Even in her retirement years this old hunting dog doesn't show a hitch in her giddy-up when the chase is on in the snow...

Poetry In Motion

I cannot help myself.

Another three shot burst series of photos of blonde dog in motion.

You can almost see the glee in her face as she bounds through the slop and the mud southbound on the main trail and headed to the swollen creek for a dip.

Poetry in motion.

Now excuse me.  I have a mountain of dog towels to launder.

Poetry in Motion

Following yesterday's rains the snow is all gone, there is standing water everywhere and mud season is in full swing.  Following a walk or run a daily bath for the Labs is the new normal.

The snow base on Saturday morning was still consistent - and this three shot burst of photos from one of the trail cameras captured perfectly the shear joy of a Lab bounding through the snow.  Likely the very last of the snow.

Poetry in motion...

Poetry In Motion

Nice sequence of three shots taken by the trail camera situated in the middle tree plantation.

Middle of the day, soft lighting, good composition and nice choreography...

The Big Jump

Poetry in motion.

The beauty and grace of a whitetail deer.

What a spectacular series of burst photos taken with a trail camera.  Too bad it wasn't the camera set to take video shorts.
