Generations

In the following two photos are three generations of whitetail deer.

Huh?  I see only two deer.  What gives?

The first picture is of a yearling fawn.  The fawn belongs to the mom in the second picture.  If you look carefully the mom is looking a bit rotund and pot-bellied.

That would be a consequence of her advanced state of pregnancy.

The third generation.

Healthy Doe

Unlike the photos of the scrawny and raggedy yearling I posted recently some of the does are looking fat and sassy.  Probably the glow of pregnancy.

This could possibly be the same doe - pictures taken only a couple of days apart...
