Ode to the Trail Camera

Two more trail cameras were installed in the woods over the past weekend.  A couple of Moultrie A-Series Model #MCG-13201.

This is an all-around affordable trail camera for spying on what's lurking in my woods 24-7, year-round.  The infrared flash has a 70-foot range and an Illumi-night sensor that improves image quality at night. Image resolution is 12-megapixels and trigger speed is less than 0.7 a second and can detect game up to 60 feet away. The compact A-30 runs on AA batteries and is backed with Moultrie’s 2-year warranty.  Ordered from Amazon.com from the comfort of my laptop and delivered to my door.  $64.99 a copy.

The price on these cameras continues to drop and the technology continues to improve.  The A-30 is compatible with my smartphone if I want to invest in a field modem and Moultrie wireless service.  Admittedly I'm not ready for that step yet - but it would be cool to fetch your photos from the day job at a great distance away.

The addition of these two additional cams allow me the flexibility of deploying up to seven cameras on the property.  Over the years I've become a Moultrie fan because of the rugged durability of their products.  Seriously.  These patient devices spend their lives outdoors seven days a week, year-round.  From left to right my line-up now includes the following models:
