Wisconsin Raptors

Red-tail hawk - Buteo jamaicensis - a hawk we see all the time around here.  As a matter of fact if you are driving up and down the highway this is the raptor you'll likely see perched on a fence post or road sign or tree. 

They're everywhere.

Individual birds will vary in color from one-another with a wide variety of shades of brown, copper, chocolate, white and grey.
