If I didn't know better I'd suggest that this deer is wearing a hairpiece, Yup, a toupee. I've never seen a whitetail wearing a rug on top of its noggin but this one is. It doesn't even match very well - it's a ruddy, roan summer color instead of the dull, gray-brown of winter.
Probably just some extra coverage for the winter cold - but you never know.
