Meet the Silent Sentries

I call the five trail cameras my silent sentries.  They're outdoors year-round, 24/7 keeping a sharp eye on who's coming and going.

The first trail camera on the trap line as you leave the house is located where two trails meet at the turn north to cross the creek.  This camera has been at this location for more than a year.  It is an active spot and the camera is positioned very close to the turf allowing for a different photographic perspective.

Trail camera two is just north of the creek in the wildlife opening where the outdoor shitter is.  (Don't tell the county sanitarian).  A camera has been at this location for as long as I can remember.  It does move from tree to tree and sometimes is repositioned on a particular tree.

Trail camera three is situated on the east side of the central north-south trail just south of the middle guard tower deer stand.  It has lived here for a couple of years and while the traffic count on the east-west game trail has dwindled somewhat there still is sufficient activity here to keep it located where it is.

Trail camera four is situated on the east side of the central north-south trail - north of the middle guard tower but south of the crossroads.  It faces east.  I am thinking of moving it.

Trail camera five is located at the edge of an eight acre wildlife opening.  It is the most transient of cameras and last Saturday I moved it to a game trail deep in the north tree plantation.  I can only hope to locate it when it needs a replacement SD card.

All of my digital cameras are Moultrie models- two of which are programmed with an access code rendering them useless if stolen.  I like the Moultrie cameras for their durability and long battery life.

Stay tuned for more pictures and stories about what happening with the resident wildlife.
