Composed by John Prine this song was originally released on his 1986 album German Afternoons. Covered by Kim Carnes it rose to number 70 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The song was further popularized when Prine recorded a duet with Nanci Griffith.
I suppose both are now singing this lovely tune for the angels.
