Once upon a time Republicans were the guardians of fiscal
restraint – or at least they paid lip service to such. In Trump World Republicans can now lay claim to the
largest budget deficit in a half-dozen years with billions upon billions of
dollars of interest payments that will take generations to pay-off. If at all.
It rather makes the era of Obama look like an exercise in financial
self-discipline. That light at the end of the tunnel is a trillion-plus deficit in the next fiscal year.
A world record – and a gift of conservative government.
