Winter Deer

Between January 19 and March 15 this Moultrie Model A-25 trail camera snapped 882 photos before the flooding of Silver Creek in mid-March submerged it.  The trail cam sighed its last gasp the evening of March 15.  (Dramatic pause).

On Friday I cleaned the rust from the contacts, installed fresh batteries and a formatted SD card to see if it still functioned.  It powered-up fine but that's it.  The electronics were scrambled and it can no longer be programmed.  It's junk.  Ironically, it was still under warranty which covers manufacturing defects but not Acts of Ma Nature like wildfires, earthquakes and flooding.  The good news is that I purchased it on sale at Fleet Farm for $68.  That hurts but it should not adversely-impact my retirement.

The SD card survived so it's kind of like the camera's memory lives-on.  Including this photo from January 21st.....
