June Night Sky

Happy June!

And welcome to evening mosquitoes.

All month the planet Venus will be visible with the naked eye following sunset.  Look for it in the west.  It will be the brightest object in the sky so you cannot miss it.

All month Mars is relatively near Venus.  It is slightly reddish in color.

All month Mars and Venus approach closer to one another.

All month Saturn can be found high in the predawn eastern sky and will continue to climb higher as the month progresses.  (If you have to  get up to pee be sure to take a look).

June 3-4  brings a full Strawberry Moon.  On the 4th Venus will have attained its highest spot in the night sky and begins to descend as the weeks progress.

June 14 you will spot the crescent moon close to Jupiter in the eastern sky before dawn.  Look for it low on the horizon.

June 21 is the Summer Solstice!

June 21 also features the crescent moon near Venus in the western night sky.

Details will be feature here in June so stay-tuned.

And bring the bug spray if you're outside!
