December Night Sky

Technically the morning sky.

With the arrival of a puppy I have been witness to more sunrises than I've seen in a long time.  I credit the morning potty call to this phenomenon.  The offshoot of this is I've also had the opportunity to view Venus above the eastern horizon for the sun comes-up.

In case you're interested, Venus is hanging around thru the end of the year; although it will be sinking closer to the horizon with each passing day.

Early this month Venus can be found in the constellation Virgo gradually moving to the constellation Libra by the middle of the month. At the close of December Venus can be found in the constellation Scorpius.

If you happen to be an early riser, or are just getting up to pee, take the opportunity to look to the east.
