Sayonara

That didn’t take long at all.

Border Czar Tom Homan is arriving in Minneapolis today.

Homan is a cooler head with a steady hand who’s worked under multiple administrations and is a solid career law enforcement guy.  He oversaw and shepherded Obama's record-breaking deportation of undocumented criminals, security and terrorism suspects without the loss of any US citizen or other civilian lives as a consequence of deportation operations.

Lessee if Homan can wrangle the shitshow Bovino and Noem have unleashed on Minneapolis before any more asshat masked ICE paramilitaries kill another of our countrymen.

Meanwhile, Greg Bovino has been immediately relieved of command for unspecified legal, operational and safety reasons.

Good riddance.

  1. Here’s the interesting thing my dear friend. It would be foolish to think the the chaos is about anything other than everything anti-trump. He could cure cancer and the left lunatics would protest such. One only needs to look at the number of deportations under the Clinton, HWBush , the younger bush, and Obama administrations which all deported far more illegals than Trump. FAR more and no protest of such. So it’s not about the deportation of illegals . Biden / Harris allowed 11-14 million illegals to cross into the US and we both know why. None of this would be happening if they didn’t do that and like it or not, Trump was the adult in the room to start erasing that. The civil disobedience crowd says it Trumps policies which is hogwash when the policies being implemented, were in place for much of the other administrations. Trump is merely using and enforcing EXISTING LAWS. The unrest falls squarely onto the ginned up lunatics and fringe groups that are against any and everything Trump. Both Pretti and Good were caught up in the brainwashing and that is what cause there death. Both did some incredibly STUPID things. Let’s put the blame squarely where it belongs. No protests, they both would be alive. No engaging ice or Border patrol involved in active and legal federal operations., they’d still both be alive. The only thing different this time is it’s Trump Calling the shots.
Take a look at all the non stop protests for a variety of so called faux causes that were nothing more than someone making shit up.

  2. Wayne...

There's a bunch of stuff that can be correct all at the same time AND like everyone else I have all sorts of theories.

What we know to be correct:

Trump has successfully and essentially closed our borders to undocumented entry.  In my view a good thing.

Obama set the record for deportations - See 01.19.26 blog post at https://verruckterdeutschercampingplatz.blogspot.com/2026/01/style-counts-for-something.html  Terrific results no drama, no civilian deaths.

Trump 1.0 performed deportations  similarly without fanfare or controversy.  Excellent results,no drama, no civilian deaths. What changed?  Style (read 1/19 post linked above)

ICE agents are now masked, carry no visible ID and under Bovino and Noem acting in a fashion designed intentionally for shock and awe drawing maximum attention.

Minneapolis/St. Paul is small potatoes in terms of numbers of undocumented migrants. DHS estimates about 130,000 give or take.  The number of criminals is naturally smaller.  6,000+ ICE and Border Control agents have been surged to this small dark blue community. California, Texas and Florida (in that order) harbor estimated millions of undocumented migrants and naturally have a higher number of criminals in that count.  With the exception of California the administration has not similarly surged large numbers of ICE agents to any red communities.

Bovino is gone.  Time will tell about Noem.  Trump is a smart guy and he knows public sentiment has turned on 2.0's shift to an in-your-face deportation strategy - they read polls too. Tom Homan has four decades of experience in immigration policy under five different presidents.  He's a solid, professional career law enforcement guy.  He is the new sheriff in town and every governor and mayor in the country has worked with him at some point in time; successfully.  He ran the Obama gig quietly and exceedingly effectively without any drama.  The public hardly knew what was going on.

I'm happy to debate the American revolution and the evolution of our Bill of Rights all day long. Most will lose that debate.

Second post has the Opinion issues

  3. What I consider subjective and thus theoretical or matters of opinion:

Bovino and Noem listened too much to Stephen Miller; consequently in search of clickbait, video-centric reels and social media attention,  their reality television version of immigration policy has led to the tragic loss of civilian life.  It blew-up on them.

Secretary Noem is in over her head and unqualified to lead DHS.  For God's sake she bragged about shooting  a young retriever in the face for chasing some chickens and being impatient to hunt pheasants.  I've raised and hunted over upland flushers and retrievers for decades and am smart-enough to know they don't mature until 3-5 years of age.  Bragging about killing a pup isn't a casual character flaw; it's a pathology. She is a glaring liability and should be fired.

Surging ICE forces in the thousands to only blue communities is a political calculation and every president chooses their own policy.  Trump is getting blow-back because the people got really grumpy over masked men, without badges and ID, many without body cams busting-down doors and rousting people at all hours - a significant number of them citizens. Naturally, the people rebelled. A couple of them were killed in the process. I call this Trump's Kent State moment.

NE Wisconsin is home to a vast meatpacking and dairy industry employing a large number of brown-skinned, Spanish-speaking individuals.  No ICE surge here. How come?  It voted for Trump.

ICE has been poorly led, even more poorly trained in the last year.  47 days of training?  Ask anyone in law enforcement or the military if that's even close to adequate. Tom Homan is just the guy to turn around the situation.  Whether a drama-seeking Stephen Miller will stand for it - only time will tell. If ICE kills any more civilians the polling will get worse and things could spin rapidly out of control.  Trump knows that.  Homan is just the guy to clean house.

I, personally, am discouraged by a few of my acquaintances gloating and basking on social media in a weird and ghoulish reflected glory of ICE deaths and the Reiner murders.  I think it reflects poorly on otherwise decent people.  I pray for them.  Same holds for the other side in the wake of the Kirk murder.

Like anyone who is a Second Amendment believer I am disturbed by comments coming from the administration about law-abiding firearm owners.  Naturally, I also believe in ALL the Amendments.

You've likely heard somewhere along the line:  When the government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.  That is an oversimplification.  As a rational, sober-minded, citizen I prefer the fundamental principle of limited government, democratic accountability and the Rule of Law.

'Nuff-said. you know I'm not a hair on fire sort.

Be well and say hi to Cathy for me. Thanks for reading (First Amendment BTW)
