My vet would tell you that dogs should never be given beer - even though I sometimes think that my dogs deliberately wag their tails harder when a refreshing beer can be whacked to the porch floor and lapped-up before the person can fetch a towel. That aside, canines cannot metabolize alcohol in the same way humans’ do and hops can cause violent reactions in dogs. As a consequence alcoholic beverages should be off limits to your best friend.
Believe it or not there is now a beer for dogs.
Providing the ultimate refreshment after a
hard day or perhaps a 'hair of the dog', this non-alcoholic,
non-carbonated doggy tipple will have other dogs bottom sniffing with
jealousy and give your dog real ‘tail swagger’ making them leader of the
pack!
A company called Woof and Brew has released a beer specifically for dogs. There's no alcohol, hops, or carbonation. The brew is made from barley malt, dandelion, flax, and includes a chicken flavoring. Serve it straight-up or over food.
You can learn more about it here.
