Narcissistic Personality Disorder

Licensed therapists, psychoanalysts and psychiatrists are bound by their ethical code from proffering a professional assessment of a public figure they have not personally examined.  Inasmuch as I am none of the foregoing you are free to draw your own conclusions.

Sometimes something interesting comes from a good, old-fashioned Google search.  In this case – Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

The symptoms below constitute a fascinating list of obvious qualities that apparently some people place a high value upon:

  • Reacts to criticism with anger, shame or humiliation
  • Has unreasonable expectation of favorable treatment
  • Takes advantage of others to reach his or her own goals
  • Exaggerates own importance
  • Exaggerates achievements, talents and worth
  • Entertains unrealistic fantasies about success, power, beauty, intelligence or romance
  • Requires constant attention and positive reinforcement from others
  • Is easily jealous
  • Disregards the feelings of others, lacks empathy
  • Has obsessive self-interest
  • Pursues mainly selfish goals
