That blog was shut down and was forced to go dark following the purchase of JSOnline by Gannett. I was originally disappointed by the decision but the fact remains that almost ten years of blogging is exceedingly long in the interweb world. Bottom line is the blog was getting long in the tooth. The Mothership has to do what it has to do.
Wouldn't you know it - a funny thing happened on the way to the blog.
Last week The Frau and I paid a visit to the latest edition of the Tosa Concert series at the Rotary Stage at Hart Park in Tosa Town. While enjoying a selection of awesome accordion music a stranger (and hubby) approached and introduced herself by proclaiming: You are Gas Pains aren't you? Which would be true.
After an exchange of pleasantries - and real names - she shared with me how much she missed the blog, the dogs, the tales, the recipes, the deer camp, the stories, the politics and the curating of original content.
Me too. Sigh.
As it turns out, the blog lives. It lives in the seedy, netherworld of the Internet's undead.
It is a Zombie Blog.
From tonight is this screen shot of the second most popular item on the WauwatosaNOW home page.

Yup.
How to make Crispy Crunchy Sweet Pickles.
Still attracting internet traffic after being shuttered at the end of March.
Let this be a lesson to those of you who engage in faux Face Book Rage. What you post on the web has a tendency to persist. It is sticky and stays out there festering in the cloud forever. This can impact your romantic AND your employment prospects.
The take-away is that it is better to have sweet pickles be your legacy rather than eschewing an exercise in being circumspect.
