Transition is Complete

The deer have made remarkable progress transitioning from winter to spring and summer later this month.

You know about all of those mangy-looking deer I've been seeing around these parts?

They've shed all of the dull grey guard hair of fall, winter and spring and have made the transition to the bold and ruddy, roan coats of summer.  They're not looking blotchy any longer.

I expect the fawns are dropping too and before too long they begin showing-up on the trail cameras. Been keeping the dogs close when we're out for a run or a walk so they don't disturb any ground-nesting birds and any newborn deer.  Not that my Labs a malicious or anything - they're dogs after all.
