Swamp Flower

Meet Ranunculus Hispidus - the Swamp Buttercup.

There is a humongous amount of this growing in and along Silver Creek. It's a showy yellow flower as everything is beginning to green-up.

This native plant is found along streams, meadows and shady woods and it spreads by rooting where its stems touch the ground forming large clusters.  It produces a great deal of pollen but very little nectar so it attracts mostly pollen-eating insects.
