The Tiangong-1 is 19,000-pound Chinese space station that
the nation lost control of a couple of years ago. As a
consequence it is going to come burning thru the atmosphere early this year – likely
in March.
While the timing of the crash
is uncertain the location is even scarier.
According to reports, there’s
only a 1-in-10,000 chance that the massive space lab will actually crash into a
populated area and damage buildings. While
the odds are slim, scientists have only been able to narrow the crash zone down
to between the 43° North and 43° South latitudes - an area that still includes
parts of every inhabited continent on the planet.
Time to think about checking your helmet and stocking
the bunker for this dangerous reentry.
