Friday Music

This band from Belfast coalesced in 1964 and was singularly responsible for launching Van Morrison’s music career.  1965 delivered several UK hits:  Baby, Please Don't Go along with this tune.  Most remembered is the ubiquitous garage band song - Gloria. 

Van Morrison parted company with the band in 1966. The 1964 hit Gloria was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999 and is listed at No.208 on Rolling Stone magazine's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
