Flood

It's official - Silver Creek is at flood stage.  Not only has it flooded beyond its banks into the surrounding acreage it has also over-topped the crossing.

In the photo (above) the creek has flooded beyond it's banks inundating the trails and surrounded area.

This is a phenomenon historically reserved for ice-jams during the spring thaw.  However, persistent and heavy rains have caused flooding both here and in communities throughout northeast Wisconsin.

The campsite is mostly under water and looking north you can see how the creek has flooded beyond its banks.  It is too deep to cross by machine or by foot.  The dogs really like it though.

The waters are too deep to ford with the ATV or the Mule and actually too deep (at least for now) to wade thru without water pouring over the boot top.

Never witnessed this before in the fall.

Yikes!
