This is going to sound like an oxymoron but a window of darkness opens this month.
Beginning this evening the March Worm Moon will reach its last quarter-phase. Because the moon does not rise until after midnight our night sky is going to be particularly dark through the New Moon Next Tuesday, March 20.
Seven heavenly nights of darkness! Little if any light pollution is a real bonus for us stargazers.
Fingers-crossed for cold, clear viewing conditions.
