A previous settler had the foresight to plant lilacs
around the original homestead. That house was sold to someone who
coveted the logs before our time.
Nevertheless, over the last century the ancestral (and ancient) lilacs persist having grown into a massive 20 foot tall hedgerow.
They’re putting on a show right now and the scent is incredible!
I cannot recall lilacs on this scale ever.
