Deer Camp - At Ease

It's quiet now that the remaining guys have left for home.  The past four days have been a barrel of fun.  Wise Guy - a founding member of deer camp - returned.  At 79 years of age he didn't hunt - and instead shared his wisdom and reminisced with all of us about the early years.

Before breakfast today Six-Deuce dropped another pair of does.  That makes for eight deer total - six of which were does.  We've made a significant contribution to the local herd reduction effort.

Being short-handed today - for the first time in about 15 years I’m not skinning and butchering deer.  (Although it would be a perfect day to do so.)  Wise Guy, Mennonite, Six-deuce and I dropped-off the eight deer with the local butcher.  We’re having five of them processed and donated three to the Hunt for the Hungry program.  Anything more I kill is going to be donated as well.

In other news the snow blower is gassed and ready to go.
