Here's a viewing opportunity that doesn't require more than a pair of binoculars, a clear evening and you don't have to stay-up late or rise in the wee morning hours.
Turn your attention to the eastern horizon to locate a cluster of stars that constitute the constellation known as the Pleiades (the seven sisters). They will be just to the left of the waning gibbous moon.
You will also be able to observe a couple of planetary bodies; Jupiter situated to the moon's upper right and Uranus located between the moon and Jupiter.

Fun fact - This constellation is also found on every automobile produced by the automaker Subaru. Japanese tradition holds that only six stars in the Pleiades constellation are visible.
