New Year Night Sky

Second-last post of this month's New Year night sky opportunities.

New Moon this evening with our own natural satellite betwixt the earth and the sun.  Without reflected sunlight the moon is unobservable from earth.

And the night skies will be especially dark.

And with the cold winter temps lower humidity and clearer skies.

If we don't have any overcast conditions should be optimal for viewing.
