Friday Music

Composed by Wayne Carson it was recorded by Alex Chilton in 1967 and effectively launched his music career when it reached number one in the United States and Canada. 

Rolling Stone magazine has listed the original at number 372 on its list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" while the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has included it on their list of the "500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll".  Finally, it has been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.   

Not bad for a single.  

And real music too.
