This song was both written and performed by the US artist
Neil Diamond in 1969. It soared to #4 on
the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It
eventually sold more than a million copies contributing to Diamond’s lifetime
achievement of selling more than 100 million records world-wide.
For you trivia buffs before Diamond was seriously
drawn to music he attended New York University as a pre-med major on a fencing
scholarship. Jewish kid from a poor Brooklyn
family done alright.
