My Kingdom for a Leader

Hello readers – following my publication last Friday of the Donald Trump timeline of shameful denials and lying I thought a follow-up progress report on the federal response would be in order.

The Trump administration’s shamefully slow coronavirus testing has been astonishing.  The only thing more breathtaking was Trump’s news conference on Saturday (yesterday) and the accompanying volume of self-congratulatory narcissism, ego-stroking, additional lies and blame-shifting.

Ever since the first case of Covid-19 was detected here on January 20 Donald Trump’s delay in creating and distributing diagnostic testing has greatly handicapped our response to the growing pandemic that now threatens all of us.  You needn’t be a rocket scientist to see what months of denials, lies and abject negligence has caused to the health of this country's citizens and the economy.  It is staggering in its scale and ferocity.

As evidence that I was not pulling your leg about the lack of testing here is the Trump chart.

Any doctor with a familiarity of pandemics would tell you that we should have been conducting contact tracing on a large scale.  This is the practice of identifying and testing the persons who have been in contact with an infected individual.  This was not a priority for Team Trump.  Keeping up appearances, lying and denials took priority over identifying and quarantining the exposed from their families and others.

With the exception of an exceedingly small handful of medical professionals this is an administration populated with ignorant, cruel, incompetent sycophants.

A pathetic collection of clowns.
