Gift of the Glacier

The material pictured is called Pit Run.

It is natural dirt excavated from a bank. It can contain rocks up to 12″ - yet typically 6″ and less. It is used for a base for roads and driveways and is typically laid in layers 12″ thick or more.  It is a gift of the last glaciation some 10,000 years ago.

Good value for this stuff.  Fifteen yards dropped precisely at the south trail head - $211.53 all-in.  Delivery included.

I'm going to use it for trail maintenance and my own meatball storm water management - namely the installation of pipes to redirect water and to fill low spots.

I'll post progress reports periodically so stay-tuned....
