Tweet of the Absurd

President-elect Trump has suggested in a tweet that people who burn flags should face a "loss of citizenship or a year in jail."

Last time I looked the Supreme Court has held that that flag-burning is a protected First-Amendment right.  It happens to be a very unpleasant form of expression – but in this country we have a long tradition of respecting unpleasant forms of expression.

The President-elect tweets the absurd.

But that’s his right.
