Salotta Meat

Mennonite and I divided-up the results of this season's deer harvest.  Each of the eight hunters that participated in both trail and stand maintenance and regular hunting during the archery and gun seasons received their proportionate share of the results.

A pile of steaks, chops, kebab and hamburger.

Camp policy - as a general rule - has been that everyone shares even if a hunter goes deerless in a given year.  I don't want you to get the impression we're closet socialists or anything; this is because it's a group effort to keep the herd in check and recognition of the fact that everyone is going to have lean years and spectacularly successful years.  Moreover I make the rules.

Another successful hunt = a cooler full of yummy all-organic, free-range, hand-carved Door County venison. I reserved two whole backstraps and some burger for camp meat next season and for Schützenfest.  As you gaze-upon the bounty in the picture above Six Deuce would tell you: Salotta meat.

Cheers guys!
