Friday Music

Also known as Mann-Hugg Blues Brothers - Manfred Mann was an English rock band of the 1960s.   Regularly included on the charts in the 1960 - three of the band's most successful singles, Do Wah Diddy Diddy, Pretty Flamingo and Mighty Quinn, topped the UK Singles and the US Billboard Hot 100 during the British invasion.

Quinn the Eskimo (The Mighty Quinn) was written by Bob Dylan.  Released in 1968 it is  purported that Dylan’s inspiration for the title character actor Anthony Quinn's role as an Eskimo (I can't be certain it is politically correct to publish that word) in the 1960 movie The Savage Innocents.   Dylan has also been quoted as saying that the song was nothing more than a simple nursery rhyme.  I’ve always wondered about that so thanks for nothing about clearing it all up…
