Friday Music

There’s plenty of biographical information about this performer but not much in the manner of video footage.

Gram Parsons was a singer, composer, guitarist and pianist.  He recorded with the International Submarine Band, the Byrds, the Flying Burrito Brothers and as a solo artist.  The music genre he popularized is a combination of folk, Rock, rhythm and blues, country and soul – something Emmylou Harris has described as Cosmic American Music.

Speaking of which – both of these artists toured together from 1970 to 1973.   In 1973 Parsons died as a result of a drug overdose. Harris has often described this event in traumatic terms -- an amputation.  She and Parsons were not lovers; their ''consummation'' was musical, not physical.
Apologies for the poor video and audio – I chalk it–up to the limitation of home AV technology limitations of the early 1970s.

This recording is a rare gem – Total justification for the existence of YouTube.....
