Silver Creek is the ephemeral stream that flows eastward across the property eventually finding its way to the Ahnapee River which empties into the Big Pond - Lake Michigan. This navigable stream has been in this general location since before it was mapped by the Government Land Office back in December of 1836.
With the arrival of the spring thaw the creek is running full bore on a daily basis. As the days grow longer and summer blends into autumn the creek slows and sometimes dries-up. With a big rain it will flow again for a short period of time.
A big rain the other evening overwhelmed things and it's likely some debris got washing into the culverts at the crossing resulting in this flood
