All Clear

Fraunhofer Institute

I was finally able to emerge from my bunker around dinner time yesterday.  After all the drama and waiting China’s abandoned and errant space station - Tiangong-1 - finally plunged through Earth’s atmosphere somewhere over the southern Pacific Ocean between California and Hawaii.

Because the fiery debris fell out of the sky in the middle of nowhere nobody got clobbered by falling space junk.

In case you’re wondering, a second station - Tiangong-2 - remains operating in orbit.  Rest of the story here.
